The very first state museum in Russia ...




Peter the Great had been gathering all display units of Kunstkamera for years during his travels through Europe. My favorite part - Cabinet of naturalia - with all this samples of body degenerations, Siamase twins - and, of course, biheaded calfs is the oldest and most known part of exhibition.

Entrance to Kunstkamera was always free. To encourage people to step by and learn something, staff was distributing additionally free vodka and bread with speck...
